Battle of Fall's river  May 31, 1778

2019 is the 241st Anniversary of the Battle

Unfortunately the ladies of the Quequechan Chapter of  DAR in 1899  had the wrong date but the right idea!

In May 1778 the British stationed at Newport RI were foraging up the Taunton River. These probes into the "Rebel" areas were causing great consternation! The result was the Mount Hope Raids May 25, 1778  and 5 days later the Battle of Lower Freetown - in the Village of Fall's river on May 31,1778 . What we know today as Fall River Ma.
